Chicken Tikka is a
chicken dish originating in India, the dish is famous in India, Pakistan,
Bangladesh. At Naan Bar Malta is an Indian restaurant in Valletta, they prepare
this dish which has authentic taste and flavour the same as India. It is quite a famous dish in their menu. It is basically a small pieces of boneless chicken
baked using skewer after marinating in Indian spices and yogurt, it is essentially
a boneless version of tandoori chicken. The word tikka means bits or pieces.
Traditionally, chicken tikka is baked in a clay oven
known as a tandoor, which helps to make this boneless chicken recipe of the
Indian dish tandoori chicken. Since most of us don't have a tandoor at home,
using a grill or the oven is an alternative solution.
The
Kashmiri version of this dish, however, is grilled over red-hot coals, and it
contains with bone or boneless pieces. The pieces are brushed with butter at
intervals to increase its flavour, while being continuously flamed at lower
flame. It is typically served with green coriander and tamarind
chutney with onion rings and lemon with some chicken tikka masala on it.
A
chicken Tikka sizzler is a dish where chicken tikka is served on a
culinary plate with spring onions. The dish is famous in Afghanistan,
though the Afghan variant is slightly different from the India variant. It is
less spicy and uses beef and lamb in addition to chicken.
